    Setting Up

  1. I can't connect to Facebook. What should I do?
  2. PhotoFresh uses the official Facebook authentication method for iOS apps. The login dialog is actually a web page, so when Facebook's servers are busy, the login window appears blank for a few seconds. From time to time, the servers won't return with the page. In that case, try the login again a little later.

  3. Why do I have to allow all these permissions for the App? What do they mean?
  4. Facebook wants to protect your privacy so they require all apps to ask for your permission for different kinds of data. PhotoFresh only uses your information that is required to run the app properly. We never save or share your personal data. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us at info@photofreshapp.com. Listed below are the required permissions for PhotoFresh.

    • Access my basic information - This allows PhotoFresh to display your name on the account and use your user ID to request your photos and videos.
    • Post to my Wall - This allows PhotoFresh to upload photos and videos to your account.
    • Access posts in my News Feed - This allows PhotoFresh to get the photos for your News Feed album.
    • Access my photos and videos - This allows PhotoFresh to get photos and videos you uploaded, and those uploaded by your friends.

    Viewing

  5. What should I do if my album cover thumbnails or picture thumbnails aren't showing up?
  6. Usually the thumbnails will automatically update whenever the albums or pictures are modified. However, you can always "Pull-to-Refresh" by dragging down on the screen until the "Pull down to refresh..." message appears at the top of the screen, then letting go.

  7. How does caching work?
  8. PhotoFresh's caching feature lets you view your albums even when your offline. As you browse your photos, the thumbnails and high-resolution images are saved inside the App.

You can cache entire albums automatically by enabling caching from a list of your albums. Go to Settings > Caching > Album Cache Settings.

If you're browsing an album, you can set the album to be cached from Cache Entire Album from the Album Info button.

  9. How do I start a slideshow?
  10. Tap on any photo and a toolbar will appear on the bottom of the screen. In the middle of the toolbar is a Play button, which starts the slideshow.

  11. How do I change the speed of the slideshow?
  12. Go to Settings > Slideshow > Play Each Slide.

  13. What resolution are the photos?
  14. Taking both photo quality and download time into consideration, PhotoFresh displays your photos in 720 pixels maximum.

  15. Why can't I edit or delete a photo or album from the App?
  16. Unfortunately, Facebook does not allow third party apps to edit or delete photos or albums. We hope Facebook will change their policy in the future.

Opening Safari and going to the album in Facebook is tedious so we've provided an "Edit in Facebook" button from the Album Info and Photo Info windows that will open Safari on the right page.

    Uploading

  17. I just uploaded a video and it's not showing up in my Videos album. What should I do?
  18. After you finish uploading a video, Facebook processes it on their servers before it's available. Unfortunately, Facebook doesn't let PhotoFresh know if the video is being processed so it usually disappears from the Videos album for a few minutes. Try refreshing the Videos album after a while.

  19. How do I upload photos and videos?
  20. Take a look at our Getting Started page.

  21. How do I upload multiple photos and videos at once?
  22. With iOS 4.0 and later, you can upload multiple photos and videos as long as the "Location Services" for the App is enabled. When you try uploading the first time, you will see a dialog in PhotoFresh asking for your permission. You can also enable "Location Services" from the device's Settings app > General > Location Services > PhotoFresh. Note: PhotoFresh option will only appear after you upload for the first time.

  23. I don't see any videos I saved on my iPad from the upload picker. What should I do?
  24. With iOS 4.0 and later, you can upload videos as long as the "Location Services" for the app is enabled. You can do this from the device's Settings app > General > Location Services > PhotoFresh. Note: PhotoFresh option will only appear after you upload for the first time.

  25. Why does the App ask for "Your Current Location"?
  26. With iOS 4.0 and later, PhotoFresh uses a customized image picker that allows batch and video uploads. However, the location data on your pictures also becomes available with the picker, which is why Apple requires the App to ask for your permission.

  27. What is Disable Auto-Lock in the Settings > Uploading?
  28. The Disable Auto-Lock prevents your device from going to sleep while it's uploading to Facebook. When the device goes to sleep, it will automatically kill any ongoing uploads after a few minutes. We recommend using the default settings to prevent this problem.

  29. Does PhotoFresh upload full resolution images? How do I change the upload image size?
  30. By default, the App uploads full resolution images, but the maximum resolution on Facebook is 2048 pixels. You can easily change the upload size from the Settings > Uploading > Upload Image Size. Choices are Full Size, 800, 1024, 1600, and 2048 pixels.

  31. Does PhotoFresh upload videos in high definition (HD)?
  32. Yes, the App uploads videos at their full resolution, but the maximum video resolution on Facebook is 720 pixels.

  33. How do I cancel an upload?
  34. From any album, tap on the thumbnail of the item you are uploading and then tap on the Cancel button that appears. From the Uploads view from the Home button, tap on Cancel All or swipe across any row and tap on the Cancel button that appears.

    Sharing

  35. How do I share my albums and photos?
  36. Take a look at our Getting Started page.

  37. How do I post a photo or video to Facebook to my Wall?
  38. Whenever you upload a photo or video, it will appear on your Wall automatically. You can also repost photos from the Actionsheet button (icon with an arrow coming out of a box) in the full photo view > Post to Facebook Wall.

    Your Friends' Albums

  39. How do I view my friends' albums?
  40. Go to the Friends from the Home button, tap the "+" button, and select the friends you want to follow.

  41. What should I do if my friends' albums are showing zero photos?
  42. Your friends may have disabled the Facebook permission for sharing their photos with third-party apps. Copy and paste the next paragraph into email and send it to your friends.

I'd like to see your Facebook photos from some apps on my iPhone but it looks like you've disabled that setting. You can enable it by going to this page http://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=privacy, then clicking the Edit Settings for "Apps, Games, and Website", clicking the Edit Settings for "How people bring your info to apps they use", and checking "My photos" and "My videos". Thanks!

    Other

  43. What do I do if the app keeps on crashing?
  44. On rare occasions, crashing may occur if the app database becomes corrupt. Try uninstalling the App, then reinstalling it from the App Store. You will not be charged twice for the App.

  45. How do I get more help?
  46. Please feel free to contact us at info@photofreshapp.com for any questions or comments.
